1. John Pattison Christie had his hand badly crushed while oiling a bark
mill in his tannery which caused lock-jaw, resulting in his death a few
days later. [DGW]
2. John Christie's mother was probably Mary Pattison. [DGW]
3. John Pattison Christie, born Plymouth, England, April 28, 1810,
resided on the west side of Court Street, at the south end, and had a
tannery on the opposite side of the street. He was fatally injured by
being caught in the machinery of his bark mill, and died September 2,
1854. [HTA]
