2. Donald Duncan's wife, Catherine Gordon, was from Valleyfield (to the
East) [FSO] and it appears that Donald bounced back and forth between
Ocean View (Colville Road) and places farther East such as Valleyfield
and Heatherdale. This might explain the family's absence from 1881C for
Colville Road, despite being marked in the 1880 Atlas as farming a strip
of land on the South side of the road. (Interestingly the 1841C
enumerator notes this tendency to move back and forth between the
established areas and the newly cleared areas to the East in one of his
many interesting comments on the Lot 57 1841C. (p. 38) [AC]

1894. I am not sure why. [JB]
